What does 'Transition Curriculum' mean?
'Transition' means changing from one thing to another. In this case it means moving from primary school to secondary school - to SBL Academy.
'Curriculum' means a plan of what you are going to be learning.

There are two parts to the Transition Curriculum.
Me@mybest Activity box. There are the learning activities inside your box which cover English, Maths and Science. There is also a mask for you to decorate. You have everything you need inside your box, however you can also find more information on the projects by clicking here.
Be Awesome Go Big! There will be a selection of PSHE activities for you to access. These activities will be really useful for you and help you get ready for starting SBL Academy and hopefully make you more excited to start your secondary school journey!
We would like your transition boxes to be completed by the start of the new term. You DO NOT need to bring the box to school on Year 6 'visit day' as unfortunately we are not able to meet at this time.

On the first day of Term your tutor will explain when to bring your boxes and masks in to school. We will use these during the first few weeks of term.

Every Year 7 student starting SBL Academy in September will receive their very own transition box with Me@mybest resources inside. Each task has been designed so that you can complete it at home, supported by parents/carers. The Learning activities cover some of the key skills from maths, English and science. It also includes a creative task which allows you to share your interests, hobbies and personal strengths. We will share our learning with each other in September so please keep the box safe.

Competition Time!
Once you have finished the activities inside your transition box we would like you to decorate it! We are even holding a competition to find the most creatively decorated box! The box must be decorated with things that are important to you or that you have an interest in! Please make sure your name is somewhere on the box, it can be on the bottom of the box if you do not want it to be part of your design.
